Hello Food 4 Paws Pack Members, time for The Dish update!
I am writing today to give you some updates.
While we are still hunting for a new place to land, we do have a temp place to continue our mission. HOWEVER, pet food donations are scary low, but the need has increased over the last couple months! Most importantly we need dry (kibble) dog and cat food right now if we are going to make it through another month!
Click the Donate tab at the top if you are on the computer or click the 3 lines for the drop-down list and choose “Donate” for the donate page. We have 4 ways you can donate. PayPal if you want to donate cash. Chewy if you want to donate a gift card or pick one of the items on our list. It will be sent straight to us. This next option will not cost you anything! All you have to do is add our Inspiring Donations number, UM662, to your Smith’s shopping “card” (phone number). You only have to do this once & it doesn’t do anything to your gas points. Check our website for more info. And finally we have 3 places listed on our Donate page that you can make a physical donation of dog or cat kibble (dry food). When people ask me what brand should they donate I tell them, “When you purchase pet food for your dog or cat, just buy 1 more bag and donated it one of our drop off places.”. You can do it all in one stop if you shop at Tractor Supply, as they are one of our sponsor drop off businesses.
Over the last 2 months the number of requests for help with pet food has jumped up to or just over 50 families. And while I am delighted that we were able to help everyone, when it came to cat food, the ladies performed a magic trick stretching it to make sure that everyone got something. This is why we pack the boxes the day before.
What people don’t realize is that we have always strived to keep 1-2 months of food in our pantry so we know we can fill emergency need as well as the orders for the next month or so. Here we are nearly wiped out and wondering if we can fill all the orders already coming in for March. We are still getting donations through our regular sponsors, but if this month is a repeat of last month, we WILL be wiped out!
